Tough opponents take toll on Tanager tennis By Parker Knox
Sports Writer A schedule almost totally dominated by talent-rich Sioux Falls and ESD Conference schools takes its toll on the Vermillion girls��? tennis team��?s win-loss record, but it provides the best competition available for Coach Dan Hanson��?s Lady Tanagers. Vermillion lost a 9-0 dual with Sioux Falls Roosevelt last Friday, but Tanager players won at least one game in eight of the nine matches. The season continues Saturday with a 10 a.m. dual at Brandon Valley. Next week Vermillion plays at Madison��?s triangular meet Tuesday at 2 p.m. and has a home match against Yankton at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Kayla Munger lost to Abby Siegenthaler, 6-7 (2-7), 4-6. #5: Dylan Daniels lost to Kara Benkens, 1-6, 1-6. #6:�? Amanda Jacobson lost to Britney Kendav, 1-6, 0-6. Doubles #1:�? Jones/Robinson lost to Hamre/Siegenthaler, 2-6, 0-6. #2:�? Robinet/Munger lost to Eden/Siegenthaler, 1-6, 1-6. #3: Daniels/Jacobson lost to Benkens/Kendav, 0-6, 0-6.
