Bergeson achieves Eagle Scout rank The Sioux Council of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 66 of Vermillion held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Chris Bergeson. The ceremony was held on July 12 at the Lewis & Clark Boy Scout Camp on Lewis & Clark Lake west of Yankton. The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest rank a boy scout can achieve. To obtain the rank of Eagle Scout a boy scout needs to complete 21 merit badges and organize and complete a community service project. Chris worked with the city of Vermillion painting and staining the new shelter house and picnic tables at Prentis Park as his community project. The master of ceremonies for the Eagle Scout program was John Mueller. The invocation was by Shirley Grabeen. The voice of the Eagle was presented by Nate Bergeson and Stephen Bergeson. The presentation of the Eagle Award was performed by the district commissioner of the Lewis & Clark Trails District of the Sioux Council, Tony Nelson. The benediction was presented by Bethel Anderson. Chris is the son of Tom and Dawn Bergeson of Gayville. Chris��? father, Tom, and his older brother, Nathan, have also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
