host fundraiser Women of the ELCAâ�?�?s unit from Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion, served its annual fundraising dinner for the Senior citizenâ�?�?s Center on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 5:30 p.m. at the center, 320 West Main St. The Senior Citizen Center co-hosted the meal, which was coordinated by Crystal McGuire, center director; Gean Lindblom and Barbara Baisden, center staff members; and Barbara Boone and Jean Christensen, co-chairs of the WELCA committee. Shirley and Bill Huber were hosts and welcomed guests at the fundraising event. Richard and Ramona Kellogg served as cashiers. After announcements and acknowledgments, Barbara Boone introduced Pastor Ed Anderson, who offered devotions before the buffet service. The WELCA committee included Darlene Bottolfson, Elaine Brown, Kelly Gilkyson, Esther Knutson, Pat Meyers, June Sherman and Zelena Weisz. In addition, women from the congregation provided salads and desserts. The committee received assistance at the event from Trinity members: Robert Boone, Richard Bottolfson, Vern Christensen, Louie Fostvedt, Wayne Knutson, Mark Meyers and Dean Spader. Jim McGuire assisted in the kitchen. The Clay County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide supplemental monies for the fundraiser to benefit the Senior Citizen Center.
