Fall choral showcase offers something for music lovers From classical music by master composers Mozart and Mendelssohn to modern repertoire, spirituals and even folk songs, The University of South Dakota Fall Choral Showcase has something to offer for music lovers of all ages. The first performance of the new academic year for the USD choral programs, which is free and open to the public, is Sunday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. in the Vermillion High School Auditorium. Under the direction of David Holdhusen, Ph.D., director of choral activities and assistant professor of music at The University of South Dakota, USD��?s Men��?s and Women��?s Chorus, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers are scheduled to perform several arrangements, including Shenandoah, In Remembrance, Salvation is Created, O Day Full of Grace and selections from Mendelssohn��?s Elijah. In addition to the Fall Choral Showcase, the department of music at USD announced that the Music Department Holiday Concert, which involves all the performance ensembles at USD, is Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. For more information about the Fall Choral Showcase or the choral activities program at USD, please contact Holdhusen at david.holdhusen@usd.edu or 605-677-5721.
