Gregoire, Fitzsimmons win cross-country titles

Gregoire, Fitzsimmons win cross-country titles Rob Gregoire and Ramsey Fitzsimmons won titles to lead The University of South Dakota at the Tim Young Invitational held at the USD cross country course Friday in Vermillion. Gregoire (Jr., Wakonda) won the menâ�?�?s race with a time of 26:44 for his second victory of 2008 while Fitzsimmons (Jr., Yankton) broke a course record to win the womenâ�?�?s race with a time of 17:44. No team scores were kept at this meet. The menâ�?�?s team captured the top two places as following Gregoire to the finish line was Sean Fitzsimmons (Jr., Yankton), who took second with a time of 27:03.�? Andrew Duba (So., Sioux Falls) was the third Coyote to cross the finish line, as he took fifth place overall with a time of 27:27.�? Rounding out the scoring for the Coyotes were Nick Beare (Fr., Sioux Falls) and Matt Bump (So., Pierre) in seventh and eighth place, respectively.�?  Ramsey Fitzsimmons dominated the womenâ�?�?s race on her way to breaking the course record by 13 seconds with her 17:44 time. Following her was Kelsey Maloney (Sr., Sioux Falls) in fifth place with a time of 19:25.�?  Heather Kuhlman (Sr., Nebraska City, NE) had a solid run, taking eighth with a time of 19:53. Allie Duba (Sr., Sioux Falls) and Jessica Lundgren (Sr., Truman, MN) rounded out the scoring for the Coyotes in ninth and 10th place, respectively. The Coyote cross country teams will be traveling to the University of Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 18�?  to compete in the Chili Pepper Festival.
