Interested in joining Toastmasters club? Anyone interested in forming a Toastmasters club in Vermillion is invited to attend an informational session and meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce at 12 p.m. â�?�?Weâ�?�?re excited at the possibility of having a Toastmasters group in Vermillion that could include students, faculty, staff or anyone in the community,â�? said senior Cindy Kranz, who had the idea to start the Vermillion chapter of Toastmasters. â�?�?Itâ�?�?s a good way to work on the skills we need to be effective communicators in our every day lives.â�? Toastmasters is an international organization that focuses on effective oral communication skills, leadership and confidence. Meetings focus on improving speaking, listening and skills to promote self-actualization, enhance leadership potential and contribute to the betterment of mankind. In order to officially charter a chapter, 20 members must sign up. In the meantime, the group is meeting informally with the assistance of current Toastmasters who attend meetings in neighboring communities. Internationally, Toastmasters has more than 11,700 clubs and more than 235,000 members in 92 countries.
