Life Will Be Sweet on Cherry Streeet Construction Update Workers from D&G Concrete Construction, Inc. and other contractors completed the following work on the Cherry Street reconstruction project last week: â�?¢ Concrete curb, gutter and paving â�?�? Plum Street to Dakota Street, south side. â�?¢ Topsoil â�?�? Plum Street to east end. â�?¢ Traffic switched to south side Cherry Street â�?�? Plum Street thru Dakota Street. â�?¢ Remove concrete, grade, gravel, storm sewer â�?�? Plum Street to Dakota Street, north side. â�?¢ Dakota Street and Plum Street intersection paving. Work planned for next week includes: â�?¢ Sod â�?�? Plum Street to east end of project. â�?¢ Removals â�?�? North side Ratigen Street to Dakota Street. â�?¢ Permanent traffic signals at Plum Street intersection and cross walk. â�?¢ Curb, gutter and paving â�?�? Plum Street to Dakota Street, north side. Discussion: â�?¢ SD DOT, City of Vermillion, D & G Concrete Construction and all subcontractors have made the safety of USD students their #1 priority. Miscellaneous: â�?¢ A flagger with a â�?�?SLOWâ�? sign will be on the job while the crew is working in possibly dangerous conditions. Please slow down during these few times (yes, slower than 25 mph). â�?¢ As concrete paving begins, expect limited access. â�?¢ Speed limit is 25 mph through the construction project. Speeding violations are and will continue to be issued during the construction season by the Vermillion Police Department. Speed violation fines double in work zone. â�?¢ Do not add, remove or relocate barrels, barricades, signs, temporary business signs, etc. on the construction site. If concerns arise, please contact D&G Concrete Construction or the DOT for evaluation. â�?¢ Temporary driveways are being constructed. If anyone has any concerns about the driveway or problems with semi deliveries, please contact the DOT and other arrangements can be discussed. â�?¢ No parking on Princeton Street from Cherry Street to the Pamida entrance. â�?¢ Updates on construction progress and changes will be available on our Web site:
