Mabry elected president of Police Chiefsâ�?�? Association The South Dakota Police Chiefsâ�?�? Association elected a new executive board at their fall meeting in Pierre. Art Mabry, Vermillion Police Chief, was elected president, Todd Campbell, Lemon Police Chief was elected first vice president, Lyndon Overweg, Mitchell Public Safety Chief was elected second vice president and Doug Schmitt, Huron Police Chief is the past president. Mabry retired from the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia after 25 years of service. He served as the chief of police in Olathe, KS prior to his appointment as the Vermillion police chief in 2003. This is Mabryâ�?�?s second term as president. Campbell has been with the Lemon Police Department for 23 years. He has served as the chief of police for nine years. This is his second term as first vice president. Overweg has been with the Mitchell Police Department for 20 years. He has served as the public safety chief for two years. This is his first term as second vice president. Schmitt has been with the Huron Police Department for 30 years. He has been the chief of police for nine years. Schmitt has served on the executive board for eight years.
