Obituaries Kirsten Rene Haberl Kirsten Rene Haberl, 45, of Moville, IA, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Moville, IA with Fr. Mark J. Stoll officiating. Burial took place at Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, IA. Visitation was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Monday, Oct. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. and family was present from 6 to 8 p.m. Parish Vigil service was held Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Kirsten was born Aug. 7, 1963 at Rapid City, the daughter of Wallace and Anita (Cronk) Bertrand. As a young girl she moved with her family around the country until settling in Vermillion where she attended school and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1981. She continued her education at USD. Kirsten managed Hardeeâ�?�?s restaurants in Columbus, NE, Carroll, IA and Vermillion. She married Scott Haberl on May 8, 1993 at Maple River, IA. Kirsten and Scott own and operate Haberl Tile and Stone. She loved being involved with her children and their activities. Kirsten was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville. She enjoyed gardening her flowers and was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband, Scott, Moville, IA; two sons, Nicholas and Josh, Moville, IA; mother and step-father, Anita and Les (Kerm) Kephart, Vermillion; two sisters, Julie Bertrand, Adana, Turkey, Erika and Keith Lapour, Sioux Falls; two step-sisters, Christine and Brian Rasmussen, Laurel, NE, Heather and Kurt Doeden, Sioux Falls, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
