player of the week Tyler Spease, a linebacker on The University of South Dakota football team, has been named the Great West Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced. Receiver Tyson Poots earned Great West Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Southern Utah kick/punt returner was named the GWC Special Teams Player of the Week. Spease (Sr., Rapid City) led the Coyotes��? defensive charge in their 34-3 rout of Missouri S&T in the Dakota Days contest Saturday in Vermillion. Spease had a team-high nine tackles, including one for a loss, and an interception to help the Coyotes hold the Miners to just three points and 275 yards of total offense in Saturday��?s contest.
