The Bluffs Bulletin Board Seniors do the
3-man scramble On Sept. 30, one of the three-man scramble teams had a phenomenal round of golf. This team consisted of Ross King, Jack Doyle and Elmer Mount. They carded six birdies in nine holes for a 30. Ross King made a 12-footer on #12, then a 10-footer on #14 and a 33-footer on #15. Jack Doyle, of this team, sank an eight-footer on #11 and a 41-footer on #18. Not to be left out on this team, Elmer Mount dropped a 21-foot birdie on #17. Wow! We have not seen a score like this in some time in this fun league. Coming in second was the team of Rich Morse, Bob Lund and Berwyn Svoboda. Their card recorded a 51-foot putt made, but no one was given credit. Taking third were Dave Raabe, Milo Gilbertson and Guy Button. Raabe made a 12-foot birdie on #15 while Button sank a 30-footer on #17. Capturing fourth was a team with an out-of-state visitor in their group. Buzz Richardson from Massachusetts was on the team with Al Clem and Van Pierce. Richardson thrilled his teammates by making a 36-foot putt. Ending in a tie for fifth were the teams of Mo Marcotte, Don Baer and Dick Gregory along with Bob Solomon, Dick Kellogg and Vern Holter. This week, a special prize of a dollar in cash each was given to a non-winning team. This was called the ?lucky losers award. Receiving this special prize were Max Andersen, Lloyd Helseth and Cleland Cook.
