USD tennis competes at Drake Invitational The University of South Dakota tennis team competed at the Drake Invitational on Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27 and got off to a solid start. South Dakota was one of seven teams competing, as the other teams included Division I competition Central Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Northern Iowa. ��?We performed very well against the Division I competition, it was a great experience for us,� said head coach Malcolm Gilreath. USD��?s trip was highlighted by Janea Hagen��?s (So., Bellevue, NE) performance as she made it to the semifinals of the consolation singles bracket after beating out Iowa State��?s Chelsea Loprinzi (6-1,6-3). In the next round Hagen fell to Jordan Short from Central Arkansas.
