USD volleyball defeats Bryant University 3-0 The University of South Dakota volleyball team finished with a 2-1 record at the Dig for the Cure Tournament in Seattle, WA as they gained a 3-0 victory over Bryant University on Sunday afternoon. The Coyotes won 25-23, 25-15 and 25-20 and improve to 17-2 overall while Bryant University now posts a 13-11 record. USD was led by Kathleen Hruska (Sr., Sioux Falls) who finished the match with 17 kills and a team-high .483 hitting percentage. Hruska also led the team with four blocks. Heather Hult (Sr., Davis) was second on the team with 11 kills as she had .348 hitting percentage. Laura Slagter (Sr., Roseville, MN) and Kristin Kritenbrink (So., Gretna, NE) each added nine kills. Gina Baldwin (RJr., Mitchell) set up the offense gaining 42 set assists while also tallying seven digs. Amber Kobus (Sr., Columbus, NE) controlled the back of the court as she led the team with 21 digs. USD finished the game with a .321 hitting percentage while holding the Bulldogs to a .177 hitting percentage. Bryantâ�?�?s leading hitterâ�?�?s had just eight kills. Seattle University will name an all-tournament team after the completion of the tournament. USD continued play on Tuesday, Oct. 14 taking on Drake University in Des Moines, IA at 7 p.m.
