USD volleyball falls to Seattle University in five The University of South Dakota volleyball team suffered a tough 3-2 loss to Seattle University on Saturday afternoon in Seattle, WA. The Coyotes won the first game 25-20, lost the next two 25-21 and 25-20, then won the fourth 25-21 before falling in the fifth 15-11. Seattle University gave USD just its second loss of the season as the Coyotes fall to 15-2 overall while SU now posts a 5-13 record. USDâ�?�?s Kathleen Hruska (Sr., Sioux Falls) led the team with 24 kills and a .321 hitting percentage. Hruska was one of three USD players to record double-digit kills as Kristin Kritenbrink (So., Gretna, NE) added 18 and Laura Slagter (Sr., Roseville, MN) contributed 11. South Dakota however had just a .174 team hitting percentage in the match. On defense the Coyotes registered four players with double-digits as Amber Kobus (Sr. Columbus, NE) led the way with 23 and Laura Slagter, Gina Baldwin (RJr., Mitchell) and Kritenbrink each added 12 digs. Kritenbrink and Baldwin both had double-doubles in the match as Baldwin also recorded 51 set assists. Seattle was led by Cristin Richards with 17 kills as they finished with a .182 team hitting percentage.
