Sportswriter Vermillionâ�?�?s girlsâ�?�? tennis team closed the regular season against rugged competition last week in preparing for this weekendâ�?�?s state tournament at Rapid City. The Tanagers dropped 9-0 duals to Mitchell and Sioux Falls Lincoln.�? The highlight of the Lincoln dual was Valerie Robinsonâ�?�?s coming within 10-6 of her Patriot opponent at No. 2 singles.�?  Chrisy Sorenson scored four points in a 10-4 loss to her Mitchell foe at No. 6 singles to highlight that dual. Results of the two duals: Mitchell 9, VHS 0 Singles: 1. Claire Jones lost 10-2 to Lorenzen. 2.�? Valerie Robinson lost 10-3 to Yahne. 3. Kayla Munger lost 10-2 to Shannon. 4. Dylan Daniels lost 10-0 to Cersosimo. 5. Amanda Jacobson lost 10-1 to Solberg. 6. Chrisy Sorenson lost 10-4 to W. Pahl. Doubles: 1. Jones/Robinson lost 10-2 to Lorenzen/Yahne. 2. Munger/Daniels lost 10-1 to Shannon/Cersosimo. 3. Jacobson/Sorenson lost 10-3 to Solberg/T. Pahl. S.F. Lincoln 9, VHS 0 Singles: 1. Jones lost 10-0 to Gebauer. 2. Robinson lost 10-6 to Cooper. 3.
