Sports Writer Vermillion sent 20 cross-country runners to compete in various divisions of the Yankton Invitational last week. The Tanagersâ�?�? best success came in the girlsâ�?�? junior varsity race where seven of the top 15 placers wore Tanager red. The cross-country season begins to wind down as the calendar moves to October.�? Next on tap for Tanager runners is the Big 8 Conference meet hosted by West Central on Thursday, Oct. 9.
