Georgia A. Larson Georgia A. Larson, 79, of Yankton, formerly of Meckling, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at the Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton. Georgia Clark was born Dec. 2, 1928 in Dixon, NE to Dale and Esther (Winne) Clark. She attended several different country schools before graduating from Meckling High School in 1946. She received her teaching certificate from Yankton College, and went on to get her B.S. from USD in 1969. She had taught math and computer science at the Wakonda High School from 1969 to 1996. She loved her flower garden, knitting and enjoyed listening to country music. Georgia is survived by three sons, William (Jane) of Meckling, Randy (Earlene) of Mission Hill, and Milt (Rita) of Kingsville, MO; and a daughter, Gail Larson of Sanger, TX. She is also survived by two brothers, Franklin (Jean) Clark of Richardson, TX, Richard (Karen) Clark of Yankton; and two sisters, Wilma (Lloyd) Haney of Mission, KS, and Jean (Bob) Trudeau of Jefferson, as well as nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey, two sisters Dorothy and Mariann, and an infant brother Billy Dale. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Gayville Lutheran Church, with burial of ashes at the Meckling Cemetery rural Meckling.
