Hy-Vee offers free breakfast to veterans Hy-Vee will honor America's vets on Veterans Day with a free breakfast in appreciation of their service to the country. The breakfast is a time of fellowship, sharing and remembering those who served and continue to serve, said Jon Wendel, vice president of marketing. "We hope this small token of appreciation will convey our deep appreciation for the sacrifices the men and women of our armed forces make to defend our freedom." The breakfast will be served Nov. 11 from 7 to 11 a.m., in all Hy-Vee supermarkets with in-store dining services, including the Vermillion Hy-Vee. The buffet is complimentary for veterans, but open to others at a small cost. All community members are encouraged to stop by and express their gratitude to their local veterans.
