play in tourney A group of eight fourth grade boys along with one third-grader, traveled to Madison Saturday, Nov. 15 to represent Vermillion in the Community Center��?s round robin basketball tournament.�? Named the Coyotes, the Vermillion team played stiff competition getting beat by the Madison fourth graders in the first round 35-10.�? The last two games were against fifth grade teams and the young Coyotes went down in defeat 36-9 to Tri Valley and 75-5 to the Madison fifth graders.�? Playing for Vermillion were Tyler Avis, Kaedyn Brown, Tate Gale, Tyler Houck, Sam Jensen, Kyle Johnson, Zeke Robinson, Logan Peterson and Nicholas Svendsen. The young Coyotes were coached by Kevin Jensen and David Knutson. The fourth grade Vermillion team will be playing in the Siouxland Y league in Sioux City with their first game Saturday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m.�? The Vermillion fourth graders will also be playing in the Vermillion recreational league which starts play on Saturday, Dec. 20.�? The team��?s head coach is Heath Johnson.
