Minnie B. Anderson

Minnie B. Anderson Minnie B. Anderson, 93, of Vermillion died early Saturday morning, Nov. 15, 2008 at Sanford Vermillion Hospital. Minnie was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Rhame, ND to Isaac Johnson and Louise (Iverson) Johnson. She moved to Meckling with her parents in 1920. She attended Springhills Country School for eight years and graduated from University High School, Vermillion in 1934. She married Edwin Anderson on March 23, 1938 in Meckling. He died Sept. 29, 2000. She was a homemaker and also was employed by Northwestern Bell for two years. She was a member of the Farmers Union and was secretary of Clay County Farmers Union. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church. Survivors include her daughters, Deanna (Carlton) Leikvold of Wakonda, and Sharon (John) Ferdig of Vancouver, WA; her sons, Robert (Lois) of Volin, and E. Lee (Kateri) of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren, Karl (Robin) Leikvold of Wakonda, Kurt (Diane) Leikvold of Longmont, CO, Rhonda Eckert of Wakonda, Terry (Annie) Anderson of Sturgis, Darcy (Dennis) Nagel of Rapid City, Shawn (Jennifer) Anderson of Gayville, Richard (Sirena) Ferdig and Wade (Jenal) Ferdig both of Vancouver, WA; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; her brother, Lewis Johnson, and an infant brother. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Iverson-Siecke-Kober Funeral Home in Vermillion, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 21, at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church, rural Vermillion, with the Rev.
