Pipeline task force meets Nov. 13 The South Dakota Underground Pipeline Task Force will hold its fourth and final meeting at 9 a.m. CST on Thursday, November 13, in Room 464 of the Capitol Building, 500 East Capitol Avenue, Pierre. The agenda includes review, discussion, and approval of a final task force report. The seven-person South Dakota Underground Pipeline Task Force is chaired by Gary Hanson, commissioner, Public Utilities Commission. The task force was authorized by the 2008 Legislature. It was created to review the status of existing and proposed pipelines in South Dakota and assess the adequacy of state laws and regulations relating to those pipelines. Underground pipelines being reviewed by the task force include those used for the transmission and distribution of crude oil, water, natural gas, ethanol, and refined petroleum products. The law requires the task force to submit its findings to Gov. Mike Rounds by Dec. 1. For a complete agenda, visit www.state.sd.us/denr/Boards/2008/UPTF1108.pdf.
