Vermillion Public Library Book Club   The Book Club offers many selections to Internet patrons. Each book runs for five days, Monday through Friday.  Some genres offer selections every other week.  Check out this service by registering at the library's Web site, and clicking on the book club icon.   Online patrons can also find the club at The following selections for the week of Dec. 15 are:   AUDIO BOOK: "Hard Call," by John McCain & Mark Salter.   BUSINESS: "The Engine of America," by Hector V. Barreto. FICTION: "Land of a Hundred Wonders," by Lesley Kagen. GOOD NEWS: "When Zeffie Got a Clue," by Peggy Darty. MYSTERY: "Desert Cut,"by Betty Webb. NON-FICTION: "Daddy Needs a Drink," by Robert Wilder. PRE-PUB: "Eve," by Elissa Elliot?. ROMANCE: "Just a Taste," by Deirdre Martin. SCIENCE FICTION: "Slan Hunter," by A.E. Van Vogt & Kevin J. Anderson. TEEN: "The Empress's Tomb," by Kirsten Miller. THRILLER: "Dying Breath," by Wendy Corsi Staub. Vermillion Public Library Upcoming Activities The library staff and The Friends of the Library will host an Open House on Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 4-7 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. To kick off the holiday season, we will serve holiday goodies, provide information about the library complete with tours, have book jacket coverings for $1.50 per book, and patrons can enjoy holiday piano music provided by Steve Hesla, professor of music from the University of Montana. Children's activities will also be provided during the open house. A special story time for preschoolers starts at 6:30 p.m. Please sign up for the Winter/Spring Story Times at the circulation desk. Children must be registered to attend. A new children's program will be offered at the library. In addition to the regular story times during the Winter/Spring session, a Baby Lap-sit Program has been introduced. This program is for infants from birth to 12 months and is designed as an introduction to the wonderful world of language.   Parents will interact with babies in ways that encourage early brain development with verbal, visual, and tactile stimulation. The program will start on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. on Jan.15. Registration is required and patrons may call the library at 677-7060 for more information. The American Book Review Book Page Magazine for December has arrived at the library and can be found on the circulation desk. This magazine is free to patrons.
