Coyote swimming teams finish 5th at Falcon Invite The University of South Dakota swimming and diving teams finished fifth at the Falcon Invitational, which concluded Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, MN. The Coyote men and women finished with a combined score of 853 points. Wisconsin-Milwaukee won with a score of 1,593. The Coyote men were led by their 200 medley relay, which was third with a time of 1:34.91. That relay consisted of Thad Stoddard (Fr., Douglas, WY), Bridger Miller (So., Upton, WY), Pat Albertson (Sr., Bozeman, MT) and Errond Williams (Fr., Omaha, NE). Chris Hause (Fr., Overland Park, KS) was sixth in the 1-meter diving after receiving a score of 216.85. Miller was sixth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.39. Albertson was sixth in the 100 freestyle after swimming a time of 47.21, and Williams was eighth at 47.87. Ryan Krysl (Fr., Omaha, NE) was seventh in the 400 IM with a time of 4:17.27, and Thad Stoddard was seventh in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.77. The Coyotes' 400 freestyle relay, consisting of Terry Rolfe (Fr., Newcastle, WY), Krysl, Matt Weyer (Fr., Taos, NM) and Dane VanArkel (Fr., Colorado Springs, CO) was seventh at 3:14.38. For the USD women, Erin Wagoner (Sr., Newcastle, WY) was second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.53. Meredith Howell (Jr., Lenexa, KS) was seventh in that event with a time of 2:19.44. Sara Holman (Sr., Bloomington, MN) was third in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:56.43 while teammate and twin sister Mary Holman (Sr., Bloomington, MN) was sixth at 18:11.83. Sallie Collins (So., Hastings, MN) was fifth in the 400 IM after posting a time of 4:45.96. USD's 400 freestyle relay, consisting of Elizabeth Hoffman (Fr., Eureka), Stacy Bjorlie (Sr., Austin, MN), Rita Buschbacher (So., Brighton, MI) and Mary Klima (Sr., Leavenworth, KS), was fourth at 3:36.04. The Coyotes' 200 medley relay, consisting of Emily Connelly (Jr., Lincoln, NE), Shannon Moceri (Fr., South Lyon, MI), Wagoner and Buschbacher, was sixth at 1:50.93. Moceri was eighth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:32.42, while Hoffman added an eighth-place finish in the 200 backstroke at 2:13.65. The Coyotes resume action at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at Nebraska-Omaha.
