Holiday open house planned at public library A holiday open house will be hosted by library staff and the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room. Steve Hesla, music professor from the University of Montana will play holiday music on the piano. There will be cookies and other holiday treats to sample, along with recipes. Book jacket covering of personal or gift books will be offered for a nominal fee of $1.50 per book. Holiday library materials will be on display and ready for checkout. Door prizes provided by local merchants will be given away. Library brochures and tours will be available. There will also be membership information and registration for those interested in joining the Friends of Vermillion Public Library. Anyone interested in making gingerbread people with Ms. Paige from Ready, Set, Draw! Can drop by the activity room from 4 to 6 p.m. A special story time for preschoolers will be held in the children's area at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend this holiday event and is encouraged to seriously consider supporting the library by joining the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library organization.
