Mentors sought
for local youth Big Friend-Little Friend, Inc. of Clay and Union counties is seeking adult mentors to match with boys and girls. There are three boys in Vermillion, one boy in Elk Point, and one boy in North Sioux City who would like to find an adult to spend more time with them. In addition, the program has a 17-year-old girl who would like to find a girl who is 7 to 11 years old in the Elk Point or Jefferson area. She is eager to be a mentor, and one call or email can start the process. The program is also seeking new little Friends and volunteers in area towns as well, and has completed its 11th year matching youth. Over the years, 116 matches have been made, with the longest being over four years. To find out more, go to their Web site, www.bflfmentoring.org, and click on the volunteer program for adult or youth applications. Please call John Gille at 605-421-5050, or email jgille@iw.net and make a difference today.
