Ring those bells It's that time again to ring those bells for Salvation Army. You can find bell ringers at Wal-Mart, Jones' Food Center and Hy-vee. Ninety percent of the money raised stays in the Vermillion area and helps meet local needs. Over the year the funds have been used to give vouchers for gas, housing, utilities, and clothing. The Salvation Army is currently working in conjunction with the Welcome Table providing paper and hygiene products to families and individuals. As the financial crisis continues, it is vitally important to provide help to those facing shortfalls. The local Salvation Army's goal this year is to reach $5,000. The public is asked to help the organization reach that goal by stopping at one of these locations and giving to the cause. Donations may also be made by simply mailing checks or cash to Salvation Army 516 N. Crawford. There is always a need for volunteers to help out with ringing the bells.
