check sobriety The South Dakota Highway Patrol has sobriety checkpoints scheduled for next month in the following counties: Bennett, Brookings, Brown, Charles Mix, Clark, Clay, Codington, Fall River, Jerauld, Lawrence, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington, and Walworth. In addition to detecting alcohol or drug impaired drivers, the Highway Patrol uses sobriety checkpoints to remind the public of the dangers of drinking and driving.
