USD women host University of Sioux Falls Sunday The University of South Dakota Coyotes will host the University of Sioux Falls at home on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. in the DakotaDome. USD will play six more home games in the month of December. The University of Sioux Falls has a record of 6-2 overall but will face Briar Cliff on Wednesday, Dec. 3 and York College on Saturday, Dec. 6 before facing the Coyotes. USD has an overall record of 6-1. South Dakota women's basketball games home and away can be heard on KYNT Radio 1450 AM in Vermillion/Yankton. South Dakota is 6-1, and is on a six-game winning streak after losing its home opener to Northwest Missouri State (69-60) on Nov. 15. USD's consecutive wins have come against Bemidji State (83-47), Northwestern College (69-61), Minnesota-Duluth (76-52), Mount Marty (78-49), Buena Vista (75-66) and Dixie State (80-62) The Coyotes are averaging 74.4 points per game and shooting 47.2 percent from the field. Bridget Yoerger leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 22.3 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game.Yoerger has scored double-digits in all seven games while having 20-plus point scoring performances in six games this season. She has also had double-doubles in four of the contests. Ashley Wiemann is second on the team with a 11.3 ppg average while Maggie Youngberg has a 10.1 ppg average. Wiemann leads the team with 24 three-pointers while Youngberg has a team-high 59.5 three-point field goal shooting percentage. Jasmine Mosley leads the team in assists and steals with 28 and 14 respectively while also contributing 45 total rebounds The Cougars have an overall record of 6-2. USF has won its last two games earning victories over the University of Minnesota-Morris (84-82 overtime) and Dakota Wesleyan University (55-54). In the game against Minnesota-Morris, USF was led by Chelsa Baxa and Jamey Hofer with 20 points each. The Cougars will play Briar Cliff on Wed., Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. and take on York College on Sat., Dec. 6 before traveling to Vermillion. Sioux Falls is lead by Jamey Hofer with a 14.8 point per game average, while Elizabeth Hildreth has an 11.3 point per game and 6.1 rebound per game average. As a team, USF is shooting 36.7 percent from the field and is averaging 70.5 points per game. The Cougars are coached by Travis Traphagen who is in his first season as head coach at USF. Traphagen was an assistant coach at USF in the 2007-08 and prior to that he was an assistant women's basketball coach at Augustana College since 2001.
