Vermillion wrestlers dominate West Central Dec. 19 By Parker Knox
Sports Writer Vermillion wrestlers won seven of the nine matches actually wrestled and dominated West Central for the second time in less than a week, 50-18, at the VHS gym Dec. 19. The victory was the Tanagers' eighth in nine duals this season. Vermillion will next compete in three tournaments – the Sioux Falls Lincoln Invitational on Dec. 29-30, Brandon Valley's invite on Jan. 10, and Harrisburg's tournament on Jan. 17 – before the dual that is circled on every Tanager's calendar. That will be a Jan. 22 dual at Canton. The C-Hawks are the only team to defeat Vermillion in a dual so far this winter. Josh Callahan, Tanner Mart and Gerrit Heine scored pins against West Central while Bennet Johnson and Brad Orr won via major decision and Andrew Eidem and Nick Mart won two-point decisions in the dual's two most competitive matches.
