VHS JV defeats Madison 44-34 By Parker Knox
Sportswriter The Vermillion girls��? junior varsity avenged an earlier loss to Madison by turning the tables on the Bulldogs, 44-34, the highlight of the Tanagers' last four games. "The girls played very well with Morgan Erickson leading the way and Kelly Amundson adding a great spark for the team, both offensively and defensively," said Coach Lori Jerred. "We finally had some balanced scoring in all four quarters." Erickson had 11 points, five boards and five steals, and Amundson scored 10 and had six rebounds. Kenzie Huska had five points and Erickson three in a 38-12 loss to Lennox. Huska had three rebounds. The Tanagers did not score till the third quarter of this game. A game at Elk Point-Jefferson was tied at halftime, 14-14, before the Huskies pulled away to a 33-27 victory. Huska had eight points and four rebounds and Erickson six points, four rebounds and four steals. A second game with Lennox in a week's time went again to the Orioles, 46-30. Huska scored eight, Erickson six and Ashley Brunick six points. Erickson also claimed four rebounds, four steals and five assists while Claire Jones pulled down five rebounds.
