Fitness classes planned at Bergen Lutheran Church Reduce stress and improve your health.Shape up in 2009 with the Fit for the King program. Please come to one of two levels of fitness classes at the Bergen Lutheran Church.The classes are part of the Gayville-Bergen parish nursing program and are available free to anyone in the local communities. The first sessions for each level will contain assessment of participant need and interest. Low impact for seniors is Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Aerobic fitness is Feb. 24 and 26 at 7 p.m. Possible areas of emphasis may be muscle toning and strengthening, cardio workouts, low impact exercises, physical fitness, and stretching. The possibilities are endless. Both men and women are invited. Share a few laughs as we learn areas of fitness that are important for our minds, bodies and spirits. Bring a towel, mat, or blanket for working out on the floor. Exercises can be done from a chair and all can be adjusted to individual level of fitness. The exercise instructor is Nicki Nelson. Nicki has a degree from University of Wyoming in Kinesiology and exercise science. She did an internship last spring at a senior center where she led exercise classes and activities for the members. She is a first year physical therapy student at USD, Vermillion and a graduate of Vermillion High School. Come dressed to exercise. Bring a towel or mat for floor portions of the classes.
