John M. Paulson �? �? �? John M. Paulson, 87, of Vermillion, SD died Tuesday, February 10 at the Sanford Hospital in Vermillion. John was born July 10, 1921 in Bomlo, Norway to Johannes and Mary (Gabrielson) Paulson. He came to the United States as a child and attended school in the Platte and Kimball, SD areas. He later attended the Mitchell Business College. John married Emogene Larson on February 24, 1945 in Sioux City, IA. Together they farmed in the Meckling, SD area for over 25 years. He later entered the banking business and retired as Executive Vice President of the Nebraska State Bank in South Sioux City, NE. John was active in the Central Baptist church in Sioux City, IA and the Calvary Baptist church in Yankton, SD. He also served several terms on the city council in South Sioux City, NE. John is survived by his wife, Emogene of Vermillion, two sons, Thomas J. of Vermillion and Mark K. (Melanie) of Mansfield, TX and a daughter Joanne (Dan) Darrington of Mitchell, SD.�? He is also survived by two sisters, Marie (Ed) Balocco of Walnut Creek, CA, Ruth (Bruce) Pranger of Platte, SD and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Arlo. Memorial services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, February 14 at the Grace Baptist Church in Vermillion, with burial at a later date.�?
