��?One Man��?s Journey��? honors Thurgood Marshall Peter C. Alexander, dean and professor of law at the Southern Illinois University School of Law, will deliver the keynote address at The University of South Dakota School of Law��?s annual program honoring Thurgood Marshall. Alexander��?s address, ��?One Man��?s Journey,� is Thursday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. in the law school courtroom on the USD campus. A 1979 graduate of Southern Illinois with a bachelor��?s degree in political science, Alexander received a juris doctor degree from the Northeastern University School of Law in 1983. He began his professional career as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Harold A. Baker prior to serving as a law clerk to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Larry L. Lessen. Following a successful career in private practice, where he specialized in bankruptcy, federal civil litigation, federal criminal defense and real estate, Alexander served as a member of the faculty of the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University for 11 years. In 2003, Alexander joined the faculty at the Southern Illinois University School of Law as dean and professor of law. �? ��?One Man��?s Journey� is free and open to the public. Students at all levels are encouraged to attend. Following the speech and in conjunction with the Law School Admission Council National Minority Law School Recruitment Month, the USD School of Law will host a pre-law informational session for high school upperclassmen and undergraduate college students interested in pursuing a legal education in room 102 of the School of Law. �?
