check sobriety The South Dakota Highway Patrol has sobriety checkpoints scheduled during March in the following counties: Brookings, Brown, Codington, Grant, Hand, Hanson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington, Sanborn, Stanley, and Walworth. In addition to detecting alcohol or drug impaired drivers, the Highway Patrol uses sobriety checkpoints to remind the public of the dangers of drinking and driving.
