USD earns three individual titles at the Jack Jennett Invite The University of South Dakota menâ�?�?s and womenâ�?�?s track and field teams recorded three individual titles at the Jack Jennett Invite hosted by the University of Northern Iowa on Saturday in Cedar Falls, IA. For the Coyote women, Jenessa Filler (Sr., Crooks) won the 200m dash and followed that up with a second place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.92. Ramsey Fitzsimmons (Jr., Yankton) was the champion of the 3000m run with a time of 10:12.17 and also earned a third place finish in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:03.03. Shaneka Parkes (Sr., St. Ann, Jamaica) and Emma Erickson (So., Gayville) each earned second place honors. Parkes finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.74 and Erickson finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.12, while the winner of the event set a national provisional mark with a time of 2:09.15. South Dakotaâ�?�?s Kris DuBois (Fr., Dunkerton, IA) finished third in the 400m dash and Natalie Newman (Fr., Overland, Park, KS) finished third in the 600m run with a time of 1:41.17. Andrene Miller (Sr., Manchester, Jamaica) also earned third in the 60m hurdles (9.24) and then placed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 5.37m. Also finishing strong in the field events was Natalie Stout (Sr., Crofton, NE) earning fourth in the triple jump (35-00.50). The womenâ�?�?s 4×400 meter relay team which included Allie Smith (Sr., Wahpeton, ND), DuBois, Filler and Erickson, finished second with a time of 3:57.56. In menâ�?�?s action, Dominic Artis (Jr., Brooklyn Park, MN) won the 60m dash with a time of 6.88 and then later finished fifth in the 200m dash (22.26). Rob Gregorie (Jr., Wakonda) earned a sixth place finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:00.59 and then went on to take fifth in the 3000m run (8:51.39). USDâ�?�?s Gable Andrews (Jr., Council Bluffs, IA) finished fifth in the 1000m run with a time of 2:38.02. In the menâ�?�?s high jump, Beau Hoodjer (Jr., Lincoln, NE) jumped 6 feet, 3 inches to tie his teammate, Caleb Peters (Fr., Minden, IA), for a fourth place finish. Cody Linder (Fr., Plattsmouth, NE) earned second place in the triple jump (46-04.25) while Tane Owens (Sr., Pierre) finished sixth in the pole vault (14-08.00) and Preston Scott (Sr., Parker) was fifth in the weight throw (53-06.50). USD will return home for their next meet, the Bill Hillenbrand, on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7. in the DakotaDome.
