Yvonne Busker

Yvonne Busker Yvonne Busker, 68, of Elk Point, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at the Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. Yvonne Fletcher was born May 24, 1940 in Akron, IA to Ray and Stella (Ryan) Fletcher.  She attended country school at Lamont in Akron and graduated from Elk Point High School in 1958.  She attended different colleges, graduating from The University of South Dakota with a BS in mathematical education. She married William"Bill" Busker on June 21, 1964 in Akron, IA, and she was a math teacher at Elk Point High School. She was involved in PEO, church youth group, Sunday school teacher at Elk Point United Parish, Elk Point food pantry, and was a volunteer for other various organizations. She was also an avid golfer, loved to travel with her family, and go shopping. Yvonne is survived by her husband, Bill of Elk Point; two daughters, Stacy (Kyle) Popma of Pipestone, MN, and Erin (John) Vogel of Vermillion; and a brother, Richard (Margaret) Fletcher of Des Plains, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Fletcher; and a stepfather Earl Monk. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 at the United Parish Church in Elk Point with burial of ashes at a later date.  Visitation began at 5 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the church.
