Anne Carlson wins national title Anne Carlson won the national title in the pentathlon on Saturday, March 14 at the Division II Track and Field Championships in Houston, TX. Anne, a junior, competing for the University of Central Missouri won the inaugural pentathlon, thus setting a national record along with a school-record 3,830 points. She did not win an event in the competition, but was second in both the shot put and long jump. Her times/distances in the five events: 60 meter hurdles (9.00), high jump (5'4 1/2"), shot put (38'11-1/2"), long jump (18' 6-1/2") and the 800 meter (2:26.26). Anne is the daughter of Mike and Kathy Carlson and granddaughter of Carl and Erna Carlson.
