Washington St., Tuesday, March 17 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Irish food, drink, and music! A children's art activity table will also be featured. Tickets available at Coffee Shop Gallery, Nook 'n Cranny and at the door. • Muenster University Center Student Grand Opening is Thursday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Come join in the opening celebration of this extraordinary facility and meet some of your favorite USD athletes. • National Music Museum's Brown Bag Lunch Program will feature Mario Marques Trilha from Portugal, playing on the National Music Museum's three great harpsichords on Friday, March 20 from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. Free and open to the public. • Fun and Games in the Community Room of the Vermillion Public Library on Saturday, March 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. Celebrate Spring by participating in an afternoon of mental stimulation by playing board games and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Anyone ages 12 and up is invited to attend this enjoyable activity. There will be a wide variety of challenging and interesting games and puzzles available. Extra games and puzzles are welcome. Drinks and snacks will be provided. • Vermillion Fire Departments Annual Firefighter's Dance is Saturday, March 2t from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Eagles. Donation: $5 per couple. Upcoming Events: Mark your calendars! • Great Strides 2009 will begin on Monday, March 23. Great Strides is a community exercise program that challenges teams or individuals to walk, run, bike, roller blade, aerobic exercise, etc. over a six-week period. All registrants receive a Great Strides T-shirt at the Great Strides Celebration in May. Registration packets are available for pick up at Sanford Vermillion, main reception desk at 20 S. Plum or go to www.sanfordvermillion.org. • Classics and Flicks at the Vermillion Public Library in the Community Room will be Wednesday, March 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. The Grapes of Wrath film will be shown followed by a brief discussion facilitated by John Dudley, USD associate professor of English. Copies of this Great Depression epic are available at the Circulation Desk. • Tour of Tables, a joint ESA & Clay County Historical Society project will be March 28 at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
