class scheduled March 19 Do you understand compounding interest and the real cost of using a credit card? Do you know the items you should not charge to a credit card unless you pay off the balance monthly? Learn the various types of credit and the correct type to use for purchases. Identify the questions to ask when purchasing a car. Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Lutheran Social Services will sponsor a free financial education class on Thursday, March 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the CCCS office located at 610 W. 23rd, Suite 104 in Yankton. Kay Ashburn and Julie Dykstra, certified credit counselors, will present two modules from the FDIC Money Smart series, "Charge It Right and Loan to Own," designed to teach about using credit in your best interest. The class is free and open to the public. Anyone in the Yankton area is likely to benefit from the class. Seating is limited, so reservations are required.
