winners announced Leah Miller and Lance Hubert were announced as the First Bank & Trust Students of the Month for January at Vermillion High School. They will receive a $100 scholarship in honor of their efforts in class and in extra curricular activities. Miller's busy schedule has included Show Choir, basketball student manager, Pep Band, SADD, dance team and Natural Helpers. She spent one year studying in Germany. Her parents are Stephen Miller and Jill Tyler. Miller is "a model student who engages students, staff and the community with respect and cooperativeness," according to her faculty nomination. She plans to study Mass Communications with a desire to become an anchorwoman. Hubert's recommendation stated that "he works hard doing above the requirements. He is cooperative with a great attitude." His parents are Mark and Lori Hubert. His activities in high school and the community include football, Student Council, Welcome Table, Celebrate Vermillion and the Senior Citizens Center. He is also a dietary aide at the Vermillion Care Center. He plans to attend college or a technical school upon graduation at VHS.
