Life will be Sweet on Cherry Street Construction Update Workers from D&G Concrete Construction, Inc. and other contractors completed the following work on the Cherry Street reconstruction project during the week ending March 27: • Milling of asphalt from Highway 19 to Cottage Street. • Temporary detour onto service road. • Removals from Cottage Street heading west on Cherry Street. Work planned for next week includes: • Continue with removals from Cottage Street heading west on Cherry Street. • Storm sewer crossings at Carr Street and Princeton Street intersections. • As soon as possible, the east bound ramp on the Highway 50 bypass on the east side of Vermillion will be closed and traffic will be detoured onto Crawford Road to Cherry Street. There will be a 4-way stop sign on Cherry Street. Miscellaneous: • Weekly meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Vermillion Hy-Vee Café. • Speed limit is 20 mph through the temporary detour. Speeding violations are and will continue to be issued during the construction season by the Vermillion Police Department. Speed violation fines double in work zone. • Do not add, remove or relocate barrels, barricades, signs, temporary business signs, etc. on the construction site.
