Vermillion police investigating USD assault

Vermillion police investigating USD assault The Vermillion Police Department and USD Public Safety are investigating a reported attempted sexual assault that occurred in the 500 block of N. Pine Street at approximately 12:30 a.m. March 20. A female was grabbed and thrown to the ground by the attacker. The victim struck the attacker in the face with a high heel shoe. The suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 22 years old, 5â�?�? 8â�? to 5â�?�? 11â�?, short, dark hair gelled to one side, long sleeve white shirt and black vest. The suspect may have a fresh cut on his face from being struck by the shoe. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Vermillion Police Department at 677-7070. The investigation is continuing.
