Youth wrestlers prepare for districts

Youth wrestlers prepare for districts Four Vermillion youth wrestlers traveled to Omaha, NE last weekend to participate in the 15th Annual National Tournament of Champions. Top wrestlers from all across the Midwest and as far as Florida gathered at Pappillion High School to showcase their talents and try to capture a national title. Vermillion wrestlers did an outstanding job. Pictured are Carter Kratz (fourth place), Lucas Anglin (second place) and Jack Kratz (second place). Not pictured is Brody Surrell who captured a first place finish. Other Vermillion youth who wrestled well at the South Sioux City, NE tournament were Brett Culver (third place), Kobe Culver (third place) and Hunter Christopherson (second place). Brett Culver (second place and Kobe Culver (third place), along with Jonah Fee (fourth place) wrestled well at the Sioux Falls Midwest tournament. The youth wrestlers have prepared hard for their upcoming district tournament, Saturday, March 7, starting at 10 a.m. in the VHS gym.
