Collier-Wise receives honor
at national writing contest  A student at The University of South Dakota School of Law received second place in a writing competition sponsored by Law Students for Reproductive Justice, a national organization committed to mentoring and mobilizing law students around reproductive justice issues. Kelsey Collier-Wise, a third-year student at the USD School of Law from Vermillion, finished in second place in this year's Sarah Weddington Writing Prize for Student Scholarship in Reproductive Rights Law. Judges said they were impressed with her article, "Bearing Witness: Looking for Remedies for Forced Sterilization of Indigenous Women," as two student authors annually receive the Sarah Weddington Writing Prize. Winners of the competition receive monetary prizes, are published on the Law Students for Reproductive Justice Web site (http://lsrj.org/), and may be invited to present their papers at academic symposia and advocate conferences.
