Jane Clarke Taylor Jane C. Taylor, 92, of Vermillion, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Sanford Vermillion Care Center, Vermillion. She was born Sept. 3, 1916 in Rockford, IL to William and Pearl (Hawkins) Clarke. She graduated from Rockford High School in 1935. She married Leo Wherry in 1940. They moved to Vermillion in 1945 and lived there for 14 years, then moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1959. She married John Taylor on June 3, 1962 and returned to the farm in Vermillion. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church, the Bergen ELCA Church Women and the Mary Circle. She was also a member of the Busy Fingers Extension Club. Survivors include her husband, John, of Vermillion; a daughter, Judy Morse of Albuquerque, NM; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Janel Wherry of Vermillion; one sister, Helen Clarke of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Jay Wherry, Lisa Sprissler and Judee Rene Kleinsasser and five great-grandchildren, Timothy, Anna Marie and David Sprissler, Taylor Madison Kleinsasser and Caiden Jay Wherry. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Clarke; her sister, Alice Jasperson, and an infant daughter, Barbara Jane. She loved flowers, gardening and listening to good music. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, at Bergen Lutheran Church, rural Meckling with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service and video tribute at 7 p.m. at Iverson-Siecke-Kober Funeral Home, Vermillion. Condolences may be sent online to www.koberfuneralhome.com.
