Plain Talk brings home awards

Plain Talk brings home awards The Vermillion Plain Talk brought home six awards from the 2008 Better Newspapers Contest, sponsored by the South Dakota Newspaper Association (SDNA). The results of the contest were announced at the SDNA's annual convention last weekend in Watertown. Plain Talk editor David Lias won first place for Sports Reporting in the Weeklies 1,151-2,050 division. He also took second place in the Sports Column category, and captured third place honors for News Series, Sports Series and Feature Photo. The Plain Talk, which is owned by Yankton Media, Inc., also took third place in the General Excellence category.
