Register now for The U�s 2009 Summer Accounting Institute

Register now for The U��?s 2009 Summer Accounting Institute High school sophomores and juniors interested in pursuing an accounting career can register for the 2009 Summer Accounting Institute at The University of South Dakota. Students from South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota and Wyoming are encouraged to attend the four-day symposium, July 12-16. Under the direction of Angela Olson, MPA, CPA, an instructor of accounting and finance at USD, the Accounting Institute will address educational, career exploration, professional and social aspects of accounting, including a field trip to nationally known public accounting firm as well as various regional businesses. Students will also have an opportunity to meet national, regional and local employers who hire USD accounting graduates. Additional events during the week include presentations from faculty, educational videos and fun activities, including sand volleyball, bowling, Frisbee golf, swimming, movies and more. Last year, more than a dozen students from the Midwest attended the seminar, which includes the awarding of three $500 scholarships to the USD Beacom School of Business to students who intend to pursue an accounting degree at The U.
