jeremy.hoeck@yankton.net VERMILLION ˜ The University of South Dakota has been accepted into The Summit League beginning in 2011, the school announced at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. The acceptance into the 10-team conference means that USD and South Dakota State would resume their rivalry in all sports expect football by the fall of 2011. USD will become eligible for NCAA Division I postseason play in the 2012-2013 season, and that will be the first year the Coyotes will participate in Summit League tournaments. Tuesday, the Summit League's Presidents Council unanimously voted to invite USD into the conference. The decision comes three months after league officials ˜ including commissioner Tom Douple ˜ spent two days in Vermillion for an official site visit. The Plain Talk will have more on this announcement later in the day.
