place at state Brett Bye placed second, Jack Kratz placed third and Regan Bye placed fifth at the 2009 State AAU Wrestling Tournament held in Aberdeen this past weekend. Also participating from Vermillion was Brody Surrell who had a strong showing as a 9 year old in the 103 pound 9- and 10-year-old division. The tournament was two days and consisted of 16-man brackets with over 1,200 wrestlers participating from across the state. These boys put an exclamation point to a fine finish for the Vermillion Youth Wrestling program. Throughout the entire season all 38 of the youth wrestlers demonstrated the hard work and determination it takes to achieve their goals.
