Special Olympics torch run May 13 The South Dakota Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run will be in Vermillion on Wednesday, May 13. The core runners as well as local athletes that participate in the event will be meeting at Jolley School. If the weather is good, athletes will meet outside on the playground at 12:30 p.m. for a quick assembly, and the torch relay will begin at approximately 12:40 p.m. If the weather is bad, athletes will meet inside the school. The route of the relay will start at Jolley School, run north to Main Street, then west to the Public Safety Center. There will be a local special athlete and a representative of the law enforcement to speak to the students. We are asking the Vermillion community to come out and show their support to these athletes.
